Harry Fraud is a rapper, producer, and DJ who has been active in the music industry since 2000. He has worked with artists such as Eminem, Rakim, 50 Cent, Nas, Diddy, GZA, Method Man & Ghostface Killah. His most recent work includes producing “Thrift Shop” for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.

Harry Fraud is a hip-hop producer and rapper from Brooklyn, New York. He has been in the industry since 2002. In 2003 he released his first album New York City with production from DJ Premier. His second album The Come Up was released in 2005 and featured artists such as Jay-Z, Nas, Lil Wayne, and Kanye West. In 2006 he released his third album Songs in A Minor. The album was written by Kanye West and produced by Just Blaze.

Before his creations found an audience, beatmaker Harry Fraud worked away in the background for a long time. Simon Cowell was the first big music business person to praise him, although it wasn’t in reaction to an American Idol performance. Instead, when he went up to receive a 2010 International Emmy Award, Cowell heard the rap producer’s work. The AI judge and label executive was so taken aback that he interrupted his speech to ask for the music to be repeated and said, “That’s a smash record!” It wouldn’t take long for him to break through with a smash song for French Montana, and the floodgates would open. Fraud would go on to collaborate with a slew of rap and hip-hop heavyweights, including Pusha T, Rick Ross, the Weeknd, Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y, Dave East, and others.

Fraud (actual name Rory William Quigley) was born and reared in Brooklyn, where he started producing beats immediately after high school and worked in a recording studio for years. In the late 2000s, he began creating music for the International Emmy Awards, and in 2009 and 2010, his original production work gained national recognition, mainly due to successful songs he composed the instrumentals for by French Montana and Lil’ Cease. “Shot Caller,” a song by French Montana published in 2011, highlighted the young beatmaker’s mix of hard-hitting and nonchalant characteristics, as well as his understanding of hip-hop history. His popularity grew over the following several years as a result of collaborations with Curren$y, Fat Trel, Prodigy, Wiz Khalifa, and Ab-Soul.

He was particularly productive in 2013, when his work was included on albums by Funkmaster Flex, the Weeknd, and Talib Kweli. He also launched his Surf School label (aka SRFSCHL), remixed Sam Smith’s “Nirvana,” produced Action Bronson’s Saaab Stories EP in its entirety, worked with Eddie B on the Horsepower EP, and released Royal Palm (a collection of instrumentals), Adrift (a mixtape), and High Tide (for Scion A/V). Tracks for Fat Trel, Styles P, and Riff Raff, among others, were released the following year. Fraud released the Marina EP in 2018, which included him showcasing his producing talents on tracks with Curren$y, Wiz Khalifa, and Smoke DZA spitting rhymes. In 2020, he collaborated with Curren$y on a flurry of releases, including The OutRunners, The Director’s Cut, and Bonus Footage. In 2021, Fraud collaborated on The Fraud Department with Jim Jones, The Plugs I Met 2 with Benny the Butcher, and Hoffa with Dave East.
